Woman executed for teacher's murder

A woman with links to Islamic extremists who was convicted of murdering an American teacher with a butcher’s knife in an Abu Dhabi shopping centre has been executed by authorities in the United Arab Emirates.

Alaa Bader Abdullah al-Hashemi was put to death this morning, Ahmed al-Dhanhani, attorney general for the state security prosecution service, told state news agency WAM.
