Murder probe after woman's death in UK

Police in the UK have launched a murder investigation after the death of a woman aged in her late 60s.

West Midlands Police said a 24-year-old man was arrested shortly after the woman and a male aged 38 were injured during a disturbance at an address in Birmingham.

Officers were called to the property in Elmdon Road, Marston Green, at 1.22pm by a member of the public.

On arrival police found a woman seriously hurt on the floor.

A police spokesman said the woman was taken to hospital but died as a result of her injuries.

A post-mortem examination will take place tomorrow to determine the exact cause of death.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the inquiry.
