US Marine killed in Hawaii crash

One Marine was killed and 21 other people taken to hospital after a US Marine Corps Osprey aircraft crashed in Hawaii, with dark smoke from the resulting fire billowing into the sky.

The tilt-rotor MV-22 Osprey, which can take off and land like a helicopter but flies like an aeroplane, had a “hard-landing mishap” at about 11.40am local time, the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit said.
