Savile sex-attack claim mishandled by police - report
A UK police force missed an opportunity to investigate Jimmy Savile after mishandling a report that he sexually assaulted a woman, a watchdog investigation has found.
Detectives at Sussex Police did not follow all lines of inquiry properly after a woman alleged in March 2008 that she was attacked by the late entertainer in a caravan in Worthing in 1970. That is according to the UK Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
