Rome airport closed after fire

Rome’s Fiumicino international airport has been closed due to an overnight fire.

Italy’s flagship Alitalia airline said in a statement that all departures have been cancelled up to 2pm (midday Irish time) and that only intercontinental flights will be allowed to land during that period.
