David Cameron and Ed Miliband are having their only face-to-face encounter of the general election campaign tonight.

They are involved in a seven-way televised leaders' debate in Salford.

The heads of the Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem, UKIP, SNP, Plaid Cymru and Green parties gave opening statements.

So far they've clashed on the economy and the future of the NHS.

David Cameron has defended the cuts that he has made in recent years.
