Merkel 'uncertain' on Ukraine peace talks
German Chancellor Angela Merkel says it is uncertain whether a flurry of diplomacy aimed at resolving the crisis in Ukraine will succeed, and warned that there are no guarantees that any deal would stick.
Ms Merkel, speaking after two days of hastily arranged meetings in Kiev and Moscow, also bluntly underlined her opposition to the idea of supplying weapons to the Ukrainian government.
