Still on that diet? You're one of the few

Four out of five people who started a diet for the new year will have given up by today, according to a new report in the UK.

A survey of 2,000 adults also showed that one five failed to continue with a new year resolution on healthy eating within a few days.

The main diet-breaking foods were chocolate, bread, crisps and takeaways, the study by V8 juice found.

More than one in four of those polled admitted they didn’t eat enough vegetables and almost a third said they ate too much processed food.

Kamalesh Subramaniam of V8 said the results were “shocking” and showed that British people were obsessed with extreme crash diets which were impossible to maintain.
