Gunfire and explosions heard at Paris warehouse

Gunfire and explosions have been heard in Dammartin-en-Goele where two brothers, believed to be responsible for the Charlie Hebdo killings in Paris, are holding a hostage.

4.15pm UPDATE: Explosions have been heard at a supermarket where at least five people, including children, were taken captive following a shoot-out at the Hyper Cacher kosher store in Porte de Vincennes in the east of Paris.

Smoke can be seen above the building.

AFP has reporteds that official sources have said police launched an assault on the printworks where the Charlie Hebdo suspects are holed up.

Security forces have surrounded the building for most of the day, cornering two brothers suspected over the killings at the Charlie Hebdo newspaper this week.

Police Swat forces could be seen on the roof of the building.
