Research suggests online readers of news forget what they've read more easily

People are more likely to forget the news if they read it online rather than in a newspaper, new research has found.

Academics from the University of Houston found that students who read their news from a hard copy of the New York Times had better recall than those who read the e-paper.

They concluded that online news changes quickly and can disappear suddenly, leaving readers with the impression that it is not worth remembering.
