Defect shuts down British nuclear reactors

EDF Energy is shutting down four of its nuclear power reactors as a precautionary measure after a defect was found in one of them.

The temporary closures of Heysham 1 and Hartlepool account for roughly 10% of the UK's nuclear capacity, enough to supply three million homes.
