Police find man walking with child on motorway

A man has been given a warning by police in England for walking along a motorway hard shoulder with a child.

The man and child were spotted on the M63 walking towards the Barton High Level Bridge over the Manchester Ship Canal this afternoon.

The North West Motorway Police Group (NWMPG) tweeted: “NWMPG patrol has just caught up with an adult male and child walking on the hard shoulder towards Barton High Level Bridge.

“Pedestrian advised. Officer has used discretion in this instance and has issued this person with a strong verbal warning.”

On Wednesday, a 44-year-old man from Ghana was arrested after he was found riding a bike on the M25 in Surrey.
