Huge ash clouds caused by an Indonesian volcano have forced airlines to cancel flights to and from Darwin in northern Australia.

Mount Sangeang Api has been erupting continuously since yesterday afternoon.

Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar have cancelled flights.

Services in and out of Perth have also been affected.
