Putin: Russia can work with Ukraine

Russian president Vladimir Putin has said Moscow is ready to “work with” the new authorities in Ukraine which result from the presidential election planned for tomorrow.

Interviewed by senior executives and correspondents from the world’s leading news agencies, Mr Putin repeated his pledge – made at an economic forum in St Petersburg yesterday – that he will treat the president elected tomorrow “with due respect”.
