VIDEO: Huge tornado leaves 13 dead in US

Thirteen people have died after a massive tornado carved an 80-mile trail of destruction through central Arkansas in the US.

The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management confirmed the death toll on its website.

It said Sunday night’s tornado killed seven people in Faulkner County, five people in Pulaski County and one person in White County.

The tornado was the largest of several spawned by a powerful storm system that has been moving through the central and southern United States.

It also formed a tornado that killed a person in Quapaw, Oklahoma, on Sunday before moving northward into Kansas.
