In the US, an earthquake measuring 5.1 in magnitude has hit southern California, reportedly causing some minor damage and stopping rides at Disney Land.

In the US, an earthquake measuring 5.1 in magnitude has hit southern California, reportedly causing some minor damage and stopping rides at Disney Land.

According to the US Geological Survey, it took place 15 miles south-east of central Los Angeles just after 9pm local time.

It was previously thought the quake measured 5.3 but has since been downgraded.

There are no reports of injuries.
