Mother held over daughter 'kidnap' in UK
A mother has been arrested in the UK on suspicion of kidnapping her 13-month-old daughter during a supervised family access visit.
Stacey Ball, aged 18, was detained early today after her daughter, Lola Page, was found safe and well at an address in Willenhall, near Wolverhampton.
West Midlands Police launched a public appeal for information to trace the child and her mother, who is from Walsall Wood, after they went missing at 1pm on Friday.
A man was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender at the property where Lola was located at about 1am.
A short time later, officers visited an address in Walsall Wood where two men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap.
At the time of her disappearance, Lola was being cared for by a foster family in Walsall, police said.
Commenting on the inquiry, Detective Chief Inspector Matt Markham said: “We are pleased to say that Lola is now returned to a place of safety and she is doing well.
“We have four people in police custody, helping us with our enquiries, regarding the child’s kidnap and they will be questioned later today.
“We want to thank the public for their assistance with this appeal. We received a number of calls from people with information, who were keen to help.”
