Diplomats work on Ukraine crisis resolution

US and Western diplomats yesterday failed to bring Russian and Ukrainian foreign ministers together for face-to-face talks on the confrontation in Crimea.

But US Secretary of State John Kerry still voiced optimism that an exit strategy was possible, saying: “I’d rather be where we are today than where we were yesterday.”
