Loch Ness Monster 'missing', locals upset

The Loch Ness monster has gone missing.

Regular spotters are said to be "very upset" by the lack of recent sightings and are concerned about where the creature may have disappeared to, despite many people believing the unknown species of animal is nothing but a myth.

Gary Campbell, who keeps a record of sightings and says no one's reported seeing 'Nessie' for months, told BBC News: "It's very upsetting news and we don't know where she's gone.

"The number of sightings has been reducing since the turn of the century but this is the first time in almost 90 years that Nessie wasn't seen at all."

Bookmaker William Hill also told reporters that the three entries to the annual Nessie spotting competition were a wave, a duck, and a photo that was not in fact taken at Loch Ness.

The first reports of a 'Loch Ness monster' emerged in November 1933 when a man pictured something splashing in the water, but many claim sightings are fake.
