Barbara Bush admitted to hospital

Former US first lady Barbara Bush has been admitted to hospital with a respiratory-related ailment.

A statement from the office of her husband, former president George Bush senior, said his 88-year-old wife was taken to Houston Methodist Hospital, Texas, on Monday.
