Pussy Riot girl 'uncontactable' since prison move

The husband of an imprisoned member of Russian punk rock protest group Pussy Riot says he has not been able to contact her for more than two weeks as she is transferred to a new prison.

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova is serving two years for hooliganism after the band’s politically provocative 2012 performance in Moscow’s main cathedral.

She went on a hunger strike to protest about prison conditions in September and was hospitalised. The prison directorate said last week she was being moved to a new prison colony.

Pyotr Verzilov told The Associated Press he had not heard from her in 17 days and “the fact that she has been in transit for so long amounts to petty humiliation on the part of these petty people”.
