A roadside bomb has killed two Pakistani soldiers in a north-west tribal area near the Afghan border, military officials said.

The blast in the Vill Zatrai area of South Waziristan also wounded four soldiers, the officials said.

South Waziristan was the main sanctuary for the Pakistani Taliban before the army launched a large ground offensive in 2009. Militants continue to carry out periodic attacks in the area.
