'Hero' worker offered his job back

A worker who says he was sacked when he tried to help a woman being assaulted in a US store car park has been offered his job back.

Wal-Mart Stores spokeswoman Brooke Buchanan says messages were left yesterday for Kristopher Oswald to “welcome him back” to the Hartland Township store, in Michigan.

Mr Oswald, 30, has said he was first attacked by one man and later jumped by two others early last Sunday morning after he asked a woman if she needed help when the first man grabbed her.

Livingston County sheriff’s deputies arrived and halted the fight.

Mr Oswald later was fired by Bentonville, Arkansas-based Wal-Mart for violating company policy.

He earlier told WXYZ-TV that he was not sure if he would take back his job if offered.
