Pregnant woman dies at Spanish airport

A pregnant British woman has collapsed and died at Girona airport in north-eastern Spain.

Catalonia’s regional emergency health service said the woman, believed to be aged 20, had fainted but was dead by the time an ambulance reached the airport.

A Spanish airport authority spokeswoman said the woman had been due to travel to Birmingham and was with her family.

Details on the cause of death or the woman’s identity were not immediately available.
