A balloonist making a trans-Atlantic crossing says he’s landed at a remote location where he’ll spend the night.

Jonathan Trappe, who lifted off at sunrise Thursday from a foggy field in northern Maine, near the Canadian border using more than 300 helium-filled balloons, wrote on his Facebook page around 8:30pm local time that he has landed safely. He says he’ll stay there for the night. He didn’t specify where.
