Swimmer snatched by crocodile in Australia

A 26-year-old birthday party goer has been snatched by a 16-foot crocodile while swimming in a notorious habitat of the dangerous reptiles, police in Australia said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was celebrating a friend’s 30th birthday on Saturday at the Mary River Wilderness Retreat, an Outback tourist destination 70 miles southeast of the Northern Territory capital Darwin, the victim’s hometown, Senior Sergeant Geoff Bahnert said.
