Ofcom has fined Al Ehya Digital Television £85,000 (€99,000) for broadcasting statements that it was acceptable to murder any person thought to have shown disrespect to the Prophet Mohammed.

The statements were made on Noor TV, an Islamic channel that broadcasts in the UK and internationally, the communications regulator said.
