Snowden to remain in Moscow Airport despite media reports

The White House said it wants "clarity" from Russia on the status of fugitive whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Earlier today, it was reported he'd been given a document allowing him to leave Moscow Airport's transit zone.

However, his lawyer says the case is still undecided and he will remain at the airport for the time being.

Snowden is wanted by the US Government - and faces multiple spying charges for leaking details about an online surveillance programme.
