Egyptians gathering for Morsi protests

Thousands of Egyptians demanding the departure of President’s Mohammed Morsi are gathering at Cairo’s central Tahrir Square at the start of a day of massive, nationwide protests which many fear could turn deadly.

Today marks the first anniversary of the assumption of power by Egypt’s Islamist president as the country's first freely elected leader.
