Vatican official held over plot to bring €20m into Italy on government jet

A Vatican official has been arrested over an alleged plot to take €20m into Italy from Switzerland on board an Italian government plane.

Silverio Sica, lawyer for Monsignor Nunzio Scarano, said his client is accused of fraud, corruption and other charges stemming from the plot, which never got off the ground.
