War artist shot in hand by Taliban sniper

It has been reported that a war artist working in Afghanistan with the British Army has been shot by a Taliban sniper.

Graeme Lothian's wife said that he was shot in the left arm and hand last weekend.

The 53-year-old from Kent was flown back to the UK on Wednesday and is being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
