75,000 evacuated and three dead after severe flooding in Canada

Severe flooding has killed at least three people in western Canada and forced up to 75,000 to leave their homes.

The city of Calgary in Alberta has been evacuated as both rivers running through it overflowed.

Roads and bridges have been washed away and electricity cut-off.

Managing editor of the Calgary Herald Monica Zurowski said she cannot believe the destruction.

"The water levels are at levels not seen before," she said.

"We used to talk about the great flood of 1932, this flood seems to be much worse."
