A double-decker tourist bus has crashed against a bridge that was too low for it in Munich, Germany today.

The double-decker bus, carrying 55 Danish students crashed against a bridge in Munich injuring 40 students, one of them severely.

Munich police spokeswoman Alexandra Schmeitz said 40 students, all between the ages of 16 to 19, were taken to the hospital Sunday.

One 17-year-old girl was injured severely on the head and spine.

The Munich fire department said the driver of the double decker bus overlooked a sign saying the bridge had only a height of 11.2 feet (3.4 metres).
