Police continue to clash with protestors in Turkey

Turkey protestors and riot police have clashed for a second day in the city of Istanbul.

Tear gas has been fired at demonstrators after an environmental protest which took place on Friday night flared into a massive outcry against Turkey's Islamist-rooted government.

The rallies have since spread to the cities of Ankara, Bodrum and Izmir.

Dozens are reported to have been left injured and Turkish police are being criticised by the US government and Amnesty International for the use of heavy handed tactics.
