Asteroid to fly past Earth at end of month

An asteroid, around three times the size of the Titanic, is due to zoom past Earth next week.

The dramatic flyby on May 31 will give scientists and astronomy lovers an opportunity to photograph and study the blazing rock as it hurls through space.

There is no chance of the asteroid hitting earth, as scientists say it will be almost 6 million kilometres away.
