Quake hits Japanese coast, but no sign of tsunami

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake has struck off the south coast of Japan's main Honshu island, but no tsunami warning has been issued.

The quake hit an area around 600 kilometres south of Tokyo, at a depth of 424 kilometres.
