Police treating scene of explosion at fertiliser plant as crime scene

Police in Texas said that they are treating the scene of an explosion at a fertiliser plant as a crime scene.

It is estimated that between five and 15 people have been killed with 160 injured at the facility in West near Waco.

Search and rescue teams have been working through the night to help local residents.

"All residents in that area have been evacuated and are in safe locations," said the the Mayor of Texas Tommy Muska.

"I don not have an exact number of casualties at this time, we took over 160 to Waco hospitals, and area hospitals for treatment."
