Lucky escape for puppy tied to train tracks

A 78-year-old man has tied a puppy to railway tracks in the California desert, and an engineer had to use emergency brakes to keep from hitting the dog, officials said.

Riverside County animal control said Banjo, a 10-month-old poodle-terrier mix, is fine and up for adoption.
