Thatcher: One of the first PMs to recognise power of TV

Baroness Thatcher has been described as one of the first British Prime Minister's to recognise the power of television and how to harness it.

With that, came the need to look her best at all times.

One of those who helped her to do that was make up artist, Louise de Brookley.

She describes a side to Mrs Thatcher that perhaps not many would have seen:

"Her persona behind closed doors when she was at home was very different to what the public saw," she said.

"She was not so strident and her voice was much quieter and much calmer and she took a huge interest in makeup and appearance and fashion"
