Greek prison guards foil air-escape bid

Greek prison guards have foiled an escape attempt by helicopter involving at least four inmates, and one of them has been shot.

Authorities have identified only one of the prospective escapees, Panagiotis Vlastos, a convicted murderer and racketeer serving a life term. They say at least three other prisoners, all Albanian nationals, were also involved in the escape attempt, but have not released their names.
