Legal proceedings in a gang-rape case that has sparked protests about the treatment of woman in India are due to begin in a new fast-track court set up in New Delhi specifically to deal with crimes against women.

Five men are due to appear at the special court to face charges of raping and murdering a 23-year-old student on board a moving bus in the capital last month.
