Karadzic to make 90-minute courtroom statement

Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic is opening his defence case at the Yugoslav war crimes tribunal on the same day that the UN court starts its final trial in another courtroom.

Karadzic, who faces charges including genocide and crimes against humanity, plans to begin his defence with a 90-minute statement on his role in the 1992-95 Bosnian war.
