Chief Constable named in Hillsborough report steps down

The Chief Constable of West Yorkshire police has announced that he will retire next year.

Norman Bettison will stand down in March.

He was named in the Hillsborough report for supplying misleading information in the wake of the disaster.

Reporter Martin Brunt said that has also attracted further criticism since its publication.
