9/11 victims remembered

Victims’ families were poised to gather and grieve today at Ground Zero, the Pentagon and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, on the 11th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Today’s commemoration follows a breakthrough yesterday on a financial impasse that had halted progress on the September 11 museum.

The Ground Zero ceremony will this year be different as elected officials will not speak.

US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama plan to attend the Pentagon ceremony, while vice-president Joe Biden will be in Shanksville.
