Hurricane Isaac strikes Louisiana

Hurricane Isaac made landfall in south-east Louisiana today, with winds of nearly 80mph.

The US National Hurricane Centre said the storm’s centre reached land at 6.45pm local time in Plaquemines Parish, about 90 miles south east of New Orleans.
