French prosecutors launch murder inquiry into Arafat death

French prosecutors have opened a murder inquiry into the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat near Paris eight years ago, according to AFP News Agency.

The inquiry comes after Arafat's family launched a legal action in France last month over claims the President of the Palestinian Authority died of radioactive polonium poisoning.

Arafat died in November of 2004 at a military hospital in the Paris suburb of Clamart.
