Standard Chartered pays $340 million to settle allegations

Standard Chartered has agreed to pay $340 million to settle allegations that it hid transactions with Iran from regulators.

In addition to the civil penalty, the London-based bank has agreed to increase checks to prevent money-laundering at it's New York branch.
