Dismembered head discovered as two shot dead in Mexico
Two people have been shot dead outside a bar in Mexico City and authorities found a head belonging to a dismembered body discovered the previous day, the attorney general’s office said.
Gunmen opened fire on 53-year-old Ruperto Acosta Diaz and 21-year-old Luis Alberto Segura Soto outside the bar Static in Iztapalapa, killing both men, a statement said. Mr Acosta was a bouncer and Mr Segura a singer at the bar.
The statement said Mr Acosta prevented two men from entering the bar the day before and they returned and shot the bouncer.
On Saturday, a dismembered body was found in plastic bags in Coyoacan.
Authorities said they found the victim’s head nearby on Sunday.
It is unclear if the incidents were linked. No arrests have been made.
