'Lord of the Rings' volcano erupts in New Zealand
A New Zealand volcano has erupted after lying dormant for more than a century.
The eruption at Mount Tongariro volcano, in the middle of the North Island is the first significant activity at the site since 1897.
The area was used as a backdrop for the Mount Doom sequences in "The Lord of the Rings" movies.
Police reported no injuries or damage from the eruption.
