Man arrested in connection with UK explosion

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of a two-year-old boy in an explosion in Oldham.

It comes after the National Grid confirmed tonight that the explosion yesterday at a house in the town was NOT caused by a leak from its gas distribution pipes.

Two year old Jamie Heaton died when a massive explosion tore through his home and that of a neighbour's house yesterday morning.

His mother Michelle survived the carnage after she momentarily stepped into the yard to hang out washing to dry.

Her husband Kenny and two other children were not at home at the time.
